Updating UPS and/or FedEx Credentials to Rest API for Sites not Using Core Versioning

Overview

Both FedEx and UPS announced earlier that they would no longer support older versions of their website integrations. CIMcloud has updated their integrations to support the new versions of REST API integrations for UPS and FedEx, and if you use one of these integrations, you will need to take action for the integrations to continue to function on the dates set forth by UPS and FedEx. This only applies to sites using UPS and/or FedEx  calls on their CIMcloud website for Shipping Cost, Freight cost, or Address Verification

The update requires new credentials to be generated supporting the new integration(s) for your account. Prior to May 15 for FedEx and June 3rd for UPS you will need to generate credentials for your account for the new API method(s) and enter them in the appropriate location as noted below. This can depend on what version of the CIMcloud platform you are on.

Information on obtaining new credentials can be found in the following articles:

UPS – UPS Shipping API – Upcoming Changes

FedEx – FedEx Integration Changes

Generating these credentials will not impact the older integrations on CIMcloud you are replacing and should not impact other integrations as long as you do not invalidate or replace existing REST API credentials.

Updating To New Integration

Sites on Core Versioning

For most sites on core versioning (sites using a worker portal <sitename>.mycimcloud.com), if you are not already on site version 2024.02 or higher, you will need to get with CIMcloud Support to get your site updated and then use the existing site interfaces in the articles noted above to switch to the new integration(s).

If you have questions please contact CIMcloud Support.

For Sites not on Core Versioning

For site not on core versioning (typically a site not built or upgraded in the last two years and not using a worker portal <sitename>.mycimcloud.com ), you will need to enter these credentials in the CIMcloud Extranet as noted below. The site will use a proxy to switch to the the new REST API integrations when making calls to UPS or FedEx. If the call using the new method fails it will revert back to old integration (as long as those are still available from UPS /FedEx) to try and return the desired information. If you have questions or run into issues please contact CIMcloud Support. We do ask that after you have completed the steps that you let us know through an Extranet ticket so we can validate the set-up.

The steps to switch to the new integration will be:

  1. Generate the new credentials as noted in the articles above. Make sure you store them for securely for reference. Some of the information is not available after leaving the page after generating.
  2. Log into the CIMcloud Extranet for your account – https://extranet.websitepipeline.com/
  3. You will see an option for entering the credentials API Shipping Credentials
