Creating Content Pages

Overview:

Content Pages are a tool that allows a worker to create custom web pages to display on the site.  These Content Pages utilize customize elements to be displayed, such as:

  • Images
  • Text
  • Slide Shows
  • Custom HTML Elements
  • Page Content
  • Featured Products

As well as Search Engine meta data settings for the Content Page, including the Content Page’s:

  • Breadcrumb
  • Name/URL
  • Title
  • Description
  • Keywords

The worker can can access the list of already created Content Pages by navigating to:

Content Workspace →  Content →  Pages 

in the Worker Portal.  You can also create a new Content Page by pressing the ‘+’ icon.

 

Step-by-Step Process:

To modify an existing Content Page, navigate to:

Content Workspace → Content → Pages

in the Worker Portal.  Then select ‘Edit’ under the Actions column for the Content Page you would like to edit.  You can also use the search bar at the top of the page to find the specific Content Page you are looking for.

To create a new Content Page, select the ‘+’ icon next to Pages.

The page you are directed to when adding or modifying a Content Page is referred to as the Content Page Add/Edit page. The steps to filling out / modifying the information on this page will be broken down by section:

General Information:

  • Status
    • Specify if you would like to show or hide the page on the site.
  • Home Page
    • Is this your home page?
      • If ‘Yes’, the content will serve as the home / landing page.  You can only have 1 Content Page set as the ‘Home Page’.
  • Reference ID
    • You can give the page any unique ID you would like.  The page can be referenced by this ID later or used in a [CSV data upload].
  • Sort Position
    • Typically only used with customizations.  
      • Unless there is a specific customization that you need to set this value for, it will most likely be left blank.
  • Page Type
    • There are 3 types of page types to choose from:
      • Web Page – Blank
        • No Title specified
      • Web Page – Simple
        • Specify a Title

Page Content:

  • Name/Title
    • The title that displays at the top left of the website.
  • Alias
    • This setting is used for internal purposes only.  Most likely, it is safe to have this automatically created, but if a group of pages or the ability to find the page more easily in the manage section is needed, this is the field to set.
  • Normal Image
    • An image that displays below the title.
  • Description / Body:
    • The content of the Web Page.  You can click the ‘Source’ button to directly insert your own HTML (if you are familiar with HTML / CSS).  
    • This setting gives access to tools, similar to Microsoft Word, to insert and format text, insert images, create hyperlinks, among other common text editing features.

Featured Products:

Show Featured Products

  • If you have the featured products module -and- you would like to show the defined featured products on this page.

Breadcrumb Trail:

The breadcrumb trail section allows you to create a custom [breadcrumb trail] that is used to navigate back to related pages. 

To configure this setting:

  •  Enter the Link Name, which is what is displayed on the page to the end-user.
  •  Enter the URL you would like the Link Name to redirect to.
  •  You will then press the ‘+’ icon above the ‘Configured Breadcrumbs’ setting.
  •  To modify or delete an existing breadcrumb, select the breadcrumb in the ‘Configured Breadcrumb’ setting, and select the ‘pencil’ or ‘-‘ icons respectively.
  • The ‘clone’ icon above with ‘Configured Breadcrumb’ setting will clone one of the existing breadcrumbs.  You will need to highlight the breadcrumb you would like to clone first.

Slide Show Settings:

You can add a slide show to your page with the Slide Show Settings configuration.  You simply need to select an existing [slide show].

Search Engine Settings:

Search Engine Settings allow you to configure SEO related settings.

 

Results:

The creation/modification of a Content Page that can be displayed on the website.
