Editing CIMcloud Generic Inquiries in Acumatica

Overview

CIMcloud uses Acumatica Generic Inquiries to retrieve and synchronize data between Acumatica and the CIMcloud platform. In some cases, you may need to modify an existing Generic Inquiry to enable, disable, or add field mappings.

This article explains how to locate and edit a CIMcloud Generic Inquiry in Acumatica.

Locate the Generic Inquiry

1. Identify the Generic Inquiry that needs to be modified.
2. In Acumatica, use the search bar and search for “CIMcloud-“.
3. This will display the Generic Inquiries installed by CIMcloud.
4. Open the appropriate Generic Inquiry.

Open the Generic Inquiry for Editing

1. With the inquiry open, click Customization in the upper-right corner.
2. Select Edit Generic Inquiry.

Access the Results Grid

1. 1. Select the Results Grid tab.
   2. The Results Grid contains the field mappings used by CIMcloud during synchronization.

Disable an Existing Mapping

If a field should no longer be synchronized:

1. Locate the mapping in the Results Grid.
2. Uncheck the Active checkbox for that row.
3. Save the Generic Inquiry.

The mapping will no longer be included in future synchronization operations.

Add a New Mapping

To synchronize an additional field to CIMcloud:

1. 1. In the Results Grid, click the + icon to add a new row.
   2. Set Object to the appropriate table alias that contains the field you want to expose.
      • Review the Tables and Relations tabs to determine which tables are available and how they are joined.
   3. Set Data Field to the Acumatica field name you want to synchronize.
   4. Set Caption to the CIMcloud field name that will receive the data.
   5. Click Save.
   6. Click View Inquiry to verify that the expected data is returned.

 

 

Mapping Best Practices

• Use existing table aliases whenever possible.
• Confirm that the Caption exactly matches the CIMcloud field being mapped.

Synchronization Behavior

Changes to a CIMcloud Generic Inquiry take effect immediately. Any new data synchronized from Acumatica will use the updated mappings.

Refreshing Previously Synchronized Data

Updates to a Generic Inquiry do not automatically refresh data that has already been synchronized to the CIMcloud website.

If previously synchronized records need to be refreshed, submit a support ticket and provide the name of the Generic Inquiry that was modified. The CIMcloud Support team can assist with determining whether a data refresh is required and the appropriate next steps.
