Warehouse/ Address /Pick-up Location Selection Prior to Order Creation

Overview

As of release 2026-06 (internal release number 4.16.0) a new feature Warehouse/ Address /Pick-up Location Selection Prior to Order Creation was added to the Product Inventory Advanced Tools bundle. The feature adds a droplist to the site header to allow users set the warehouse for the order (on the session) from a list of warehouses, ship to addresses, or pick-up locations (global addresses).

Settings to determine if the inventory display is based on inventory across all warehouses or just the selected warehouse have been added and invnetory display should follow based on this setting.

If using this feature contact CIMcloud customer support to ensure that warehouse assignments from this feature are properly mapped when created orders in the ERP.

If warehouse selection is expected to impact pricing, contact CIMcloud to verify that the appropriate ERP mappings are available and if available and in scope are installed on your site. At the time of this article standard support for warehouse level pricing is only available for Acumatica.

The following feature and associated settings are available

  1. Warehouse Assigned comes from – This determines if the droplist display and warehouse applied comes from a list of warehouses, shipping addresses, or pick-up locations. For warehouses to default from shipping addresses the warehouse needs to be populated on the addresses records which typically comes from the ERP. Pick-up locations are Global Addresses on the website and the warehouse will need to be manually populated on these website created records. These locations are typically part of the Local Pick-up feature in the Advanced Order Entry Tools Bundle.
  2. Set default warehouse on the User’s session – If yes a default will apply before the user selects anything, if no then users will not be able to add to cart until a selection is made. The default is for this to come from user’s account.
  3. Default Inventory Display Logic from Warehouse – If Yes the inventory display will be based on just the inventory in the selected warehouse else it will come from the inventory from all enabled warehouses
  4. Message to display if no addresses or warehouses available – The message that displays if no option is available
  5. Warehouse Droplist “Select One” Text – The display in the dropdown before any thing is selected.
  6. Selected Warehouse Site Header Text – The message that displays when a selection has been made. This can include dynamic tags – <warehouse_name>, <warehouse_id>, <address1>, <address2>, <city>, <state>, <zip>
  7. No Warehouse Selected Site Header Text – The message that displays if no selection has been made.
  8. No Warehouse Selected Add To Cart Text – If no warehouse has been selected then Add to Cart is disabled and this is the message that display on the product.
  9. Warehouse Select Option Text – This text displays as the option text of the global warehouse select. The following tags are available to use for tag replacement: <warehouse_name>, <warehouse_id>, <address1>, <address2>, <city>, <state>, <zip>
  10. All Warehouse Display Text – Display text used for the “All Warehouses” entry in the selector dropdown. This same value is also substituted into the token of the existing header current-message template (Selected Warehouse Site Header Text) when “All Warehouses” is the active selection.
  11. Allow Shopping All Warehouses – When enabled an “All Warehouses” option is added to the warehouse / pickup selector. Selecting it leaves the session pw_id empty so the catalog shows rolled-up inventory, prices display normally, and add-to-cart is allowed without committing to a specific warehouse.
  12. Default New Session to All Warehouses – When enabled, new sessions start in “All Warehouses” mode (no default warehouse is assigned). Only effective when “Allow Shopping All Warehouses” is also enabled.
