Project Overview

The CIMcloud Assisted Version Update and Customization Compatibility Work Package

Available only for CIMcloud customers on a current 2.x + version of the platform

This work package is designed to assist CIMcloud customers by having a dedicated team of Expert Help/Project Success Consultants complete the bulk of work required for a platform version update.  In addition, this is built with a predictable fixed price budget and timeline for completion.

This package is especially helpful for CIMcloud customers with limited resources or availability to drive and/or manage a version update project.

Key Components:

  • Understanding the LVU process from Sandbox to Go Live
  • CIM Level Project Coordination for Aligning Open Development Projects 
  • Customization Review & Compatibility Work 
    • This ensures all customizations are updated to be compatible with the latest product version and implementing required code updates
  • Platform Testing by a CIMcloud Expert Help/Project Success Consultant
  • Sandbox Turnover and Go Live Scheduling 
  • Version Update Go Live Event
  • Post Launch Stabilization & Project Closeout

Fixed Price Budget:

  • Complexity levels are based on the number of customizations and custom features.

The Offering:

Step 1: Sandbox Deployment:

The first step is entering a task for the CIMcloud team to deploy a sandbox copy of your production platform with a snapshot of live data at that time and update it to the latest version.

Step 2: Initial Project Kickoff Call:

The project will start with a single kickoff call to recap the version update process, verify customer stakeholders and discuss overall timelines for completion.

This call typically lasts 30 – 45 minutes at most.

Step 3: Customization Compatibility Work
In some cases, unique platform customizations may not be fully compatible with the latest version of the CIMcloud platform.  If this is the case, these customizations must be updated to prevent any impact to the users.

As part of the version update process, a CIMcloud developer will audit the existing platform customizations, test compatibility on the latest version, and complete any custom code updates required to maintain compatibility.

Step 4: CIMcloud QA / Platform Testing

A CIMcloud Expert Help/Project Success Consultant will complete a quality assurance review including all standard platform functions as well as testing of any additional customer-specific customizations and features.

Step 5: Sandbox Turnover & Check-In Call

Upon completion of testing and QA by a CIMcloud Expert Help/Project Success Consultant, a turnover call will be scheduled to:

  • Review project status
  • Provide a link for customer testing
  • Schedule a go-live date

This call typically lasts 30 minutes.

Step 6: Version Update Go Live:

The go live date is typically scheduled during a time of low user activity, and is typically on a weekday to ensure there are ample CIMcloud resource available to assist.  There is typically a small maintenance window of 3 – 4 hours.

Once the platform is live on the latest version, a CIMcloud professional in conjunction with you, will conduct a final round of live testing, and address any issues that may have surfaced.

Step 7: Post-Launch Stabilization 

Following the go-live event, our team will continue to monitor and provide post-launch stabilization support for an additional week.  

Step 8: Project Closeout Call

Once live and stable on the latest version of the CIMcloud platform,, a brief project closeout call will be scheduled to wrap up any open items, conduct a brief project recap and gather any customer feedback related to the project execution.

Known Assumptions

The successful execution of this project is dependent on a customer commitment to engage with a CIMcloud Expert Help/Project Success Consultant in platform and customization testing, as well as committing to 3 check-in and status review calls.

Unknowns / Exclusions

This engagement does not cover the addition of “new” features or customizations that are not currently present on the production instance of the customer platform.
