Overview
This feature is part of the Advanced Order Entry Tools bundle. This feature enables worker access to a calendar to be able to set specific values that determine the effective order date for an order. This date can be used by other features or if desired can be used in setting specific dates in the ERP. The effective order date, based on settings as noted below, could mean an order placed at 9AM on a Friday has an effective order date of that Friday and an order placed at 7 PM that Friday has an effective order date of the following Monday or Tuesday if that Monday is a holiday.
This effective order date is used with the features below that are in this bundle
- Expected Ship Date from Fixed Lead Time
- Expected Ship Date from Profiles and Product Overrides
If the effective order date needs to change how dates are populated in the ERP, this will require CIMcloud to make a small update to the process pushing the order to the ERP. Put in a Extranet ticket and CIMcloud can make that update.
What CRM Worker Sees
A CRM worker will not see anything different with this feature enabled
What an Admin Worker Sees
With this feature enable an admin user will have access to the Business Day Calendar in the worker portal.
The feature is in the Quotes/Ordering section of features and the Advanced Order Entry bundle section

With the feature enabled an admin worker will see an Ordering section in the Settings Workspace in the worker portal with the menu option Order Date Settings.

While there are options to have multiple Order Date Settings, currently only the one set as Default will be used by the site.
If you click on Edit you will be able to configure the calendar for your business needs.

- Reference ID – This is the unique identifier for the record. Leave this if you are just updating the default values.
- Name – User friendly identifier. Leave this if you are just updating the default values.
- Default? – This needs to be set to Yes for the site to use with this feature.
- Daily Cutoff Time – This is the time to determine if the order effective date is the current day or a following day. If set to 1 PM an order placed before 1 PM is considered that day, any time after is considered the next day.
- Time Zone ID – This is the time zone to associated with the Daily Cutoff Time
- Work Days – These are the days to apply the cutoff time. If not checked then the day will not be included and be skipped when determining the effective order date
- Holiday’s – These are specific days that will be skipped in the calculation
- Default Lead Time Days – This is not used by this specific functionality, but is used by other features. The value does not impact the effective order date.
Example:
Cutoff time is 12 PM ET. The work days are Monday through Friday. It is Friday and Monday is a holiday.
An order placed at 11 AM Friday will have an effective order date of that same day
An order placed at 1 PM Friday will have an effective order date of the following Tuesday (It would normally be Monday but that is a date on the holiday list)
An order placed at 1 PM Saturday will have an effective order date of the following Tuesday
An order placed at 1 PM Monday will have an effective order date of the following Tuesday
An order placed at 1o AM Tuesday will have an effective order date of that day
An order placed at 1 PM Tuesday will have an effective order date of the following day (Wednesday)
What a Customer Site User Sees
The only difference for Customer site users is they will see the effective order date on the order confirmation Email
