As you may already be aware, there have been some recent large-scale changes in the sales & use tax landscape. Historically, states have not been able to require out of state businesses to collect sales tax on their sales. The Supreme Court decision in South Dakota vs Wayfair, Inc. has changed the old physical presence standards.
Most states have since enacted a sales and transaction threshold that allows them to require remote sellers to collect & remit sales tax in their state if surpassed. CIMcloud (Website Pipeline) does business in many different states and, due to these new economic nexus rules, may be required to begin collecting tax.
If you see a tax amount on your invoice, it means that we have a requirement to collect and remit sales tax in your state.
